Windows Vista or Windows 7

If you have Windows Vista or Windows 7, there are two methods to determine whether you are running a 32-bit or a 64-bit version. If one does not work, try the other.

Method 1: View System window in Control Panel

If you cannot determine the operating system bit count with these methods, go to the "Next Steps" section.

Windows XP

If you have Windows XP, there are two methods to determine whether you are running a 32-bit or a 64-bit version. If one does not work, try the other.

Method 1: View System Properties in Control Panel

1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. Type sysdm.cpl, and then click OK.
3. Click the General tab. The operating system is displayed as follows:
   • For a 64-bit version operating system: Windows XP Professional x64 Edition Version < Year> appears under System.
   • For a 32-bit version operating system: Windows XP Professional Version appears under System.
   Note is a placeholder for a year.

Method 2: View System Information window

1. Click Start, and then click Run.
2. Type winmsd.exe, and then click OK.
3. When System Summary is selected in the navigation pane, locate Processor under Item in the details pane. Note the value.
   • If the value that corresponds to Processor starts with x86, the computer is running a 32-bit version of Windows.
   • If the value that corresponds to Processor starts with ia64 or AMD64, the computer is running a 64-bit version of Windows.

If you cannot determine the operating system bit count with these methods, go to the "Next Steps" section.

Sustainable architecture in Malaysia

Since the construction of the Petronas Twin Towers, Malaysia, and its capital Kuala Lumpur in particular, has become a reference in architecture worldwide. Thus, it is not surprising to see it produce other noteworthy buildings. Only this time, the main focus is not height, but, on the contrary, that they are good examples of bioclimatic and sustainable architecture. Eight unusual buildings will lengthen the urban front of Putrajaya, located about 30 km south of the capital and known as Precinct 4.

The project was born from a cooperation between Studio Nicoletti Associati and a local firm, the Hijjas Kasturi Associates, that created the entire urban arrangement of the area, taking into great account the relationship between the city and the surrounding lake. However, these eight buildings are, without a doubt, the most interesting part of the whole set.

 

Their small height and transparency are their most striking features; and the global image vaguely or purposedly evokes naval motifs, be them pilled up boats, vertically showing their framework or a sailing boat fleet on a boat race. That's why the project is already known as the Putrajaya fleet. Nevertheless, there are also remnants of islamic architecture, suggested by the curvature of the buildings. And in the end it all comes down to residences like any other residence, that also include balconies, shades, natural ventilation, green spaces, etc.

Whether this image was intentional or not, the truth is it results from the introduction, in architectonic design, of new elements and new problems to solve. These outside demands and their specific needs, many of which with a technological side to them, are an important stimulus and a key factor in the renewal of architectonic language. The authors of this project were able to do it masterfully.

There's making it big

There's making it big. Then there's making the Forbes 400. From Bill Gates and Warren Buffett to Steve Jobs and Nike's Phil Knight, our annual list of the richest people in America is home to icons of technology, investing and industry, with a entry level of $1 billion to make it on the list. It's an elite group, but it's hardly permanent.

Thanks to death and declining fortune, this year 34 members of the 2009 edition were off the list. And over time business cycles and the radical reshaping of the economy lead to even more tectonic shifts. In 1982 the total net worth of the Forbes 400 was $127 billion, with energy fortunes representing 21.6% of the total. This year the total net worth of the list was $1.4 trillion, and finance and investments led the way, responsible for 25.5%.

So who's waiting in the wings? Based on our research, we see 15 people as likely candidates to breach the billion-dollar barrier in the coming years. Call it the Forbes 400 Farm Team. On it are some of the biggest names in entertainment, sports' most branded athletes and businessmen on the brink of making it very big. This elite group of tech moguls, hedge-funders, athletes and entertainers is hovering under billionaire status with a strong chance of breaking into the Forbes 400 ranks this decade, including some well-known names such as Jay-Z, Jerry Seinfeld, Tiger Woods and James Cameron.

Jerry Seinfeld, with an estimated net worth of $800 million, is a very likely bet. His TV show about nothing has earned $2.7 billion in 12 years and could take in $200 million more a year, thanks to syndication payments. Seinfeld has spent some of his portion buying up New York real estate and has a four-car garage (in Manhattan!) for his fleet of vintage motors. The cash-rich star may need another hit: The Marriage Ref wasn't it.

Another likely candidate is producer Jerry Bruckheimer, worth $850 million. The Hollywood producer's blockbuster franchises, like Pirates of the Caribbean and National Treasure, have generated $9 billion at the global box office, with more to come. TV hits include the CSI franchise, Without a Trace and Amazing Race. Director James Cameron moved a lot closer with the release of Avatar, which earned $2.7 billion at the box office and is the bestselling Blu-ray disc of all time. His older films, including Titanic, have earned a combined $3 billion. We estimate his current net worth at $650 million.

With $450 million and a career trajectory aimed right at the sky, we expect Jay-Z could make the list one day as well. Jay-Z has elevated hip-hop to rock arenas, packing ballparks with Eminem this summer. If he keeps selling out monster shows, money will rain down on all his ventures: the Roc Nation label, a back catalog (ownership reverts to him in 2014), Rocawear clothing royalties, a stake in the New Jersey Nets. He'll score nicely if a suitor buys Carol's Daughter, a hot beauty care line backed by Jay-Z and other celebs. He and wife Beyonce Knowles may already be music's first billion-dollar couple.

From sports we see two very familiar names: Tiger Woods and Michael Jordan, each worth $500 million, as likely list members one day soon. Jordan, the former Chicago Bulls wonder, earned $90 million in salary during his playing career. Most of his fortune now derives from endorsement deals with his biggest sponsor, Nike ( NKE - News); he raised his stake in the NBA's Charlotte Bobcats to 80% this year.

Woods' fortune took a beating his year. His agents, the tax man and recently divorced wife Elin Nordegren have all gotten pieces of his $130 million in career prize money and $900 million in revenue from endorsements, appearance fees and golf course design business since 1996. But he will make it to 10 figures if he starts winning again and sponsors return.

The fastest-rising member of this year's 400 was 26-year-old Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, who's net worth sprung from $2 billion last year to $6.9 billion this year. Other social media mavens will likely follow his path in the years ahead. Sean Parker, cofounder of Napster ( NAPS - News) and Plaxo, was the Silicon Valley veteran who joined Facebook in 2004 as its founding president and helped it navigate initial funding. He left in 2005 for venture capital but still has a 4% stake, pushing his net worth to $920 million.

Right behind him at $850 million is Mark Pincus, the love-him-or-hate-him leader of Internet's most popular gaming site, Zynga, named for his late bulldog. Pincus' fourth startup, it grosses some $500 million from virtual goods and promotions with 7-Eleven, Target ( TGT - News) and MTV. "FarmVille," "FrontierVille" and "Zynga Poker" are its most popular games, and it's worth an estimated $5 billion right now.

Then there's Reid Hoffman. A former executive at Apple ( AAPL - News) and PayPal, Hoffman cofounded LinkedIn in 2003; networking site started making money three years later and now has 75 million users; about half its members are outside the U.S. Tiger Global Management bought 1% of the firm in July, valuing it at $2 billion. Hoffman's estimated worth: $340 million.

600,000 Pengguna 3G Sudah Beralih Ke Jalur Lebar (Broadband)

CYBERJAYA - Kira-kira 600,000 dari 7.9 juta pengguna perkhidmatan 3G telah beralih kepada perkhidmatan jalur lebar ketika ini, kata Menteri Penerangan Komunikasi dan Kebudayaan, Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim.

"Angka ini adalah angka yang besar dan angka ini menunjukkan bahawa dasar yang dibuat kerajaan kian lama kian memberi kesan," katanya ketika berucap di Majlis Rumah Terbuka Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Suruhanjaya Komunikasi dan Multimedia Malaysia (SKMM) di sini.

Turut hadir di majlis itu isteri beliau Datin Seri Masnah Rais, kedua-dua timbalannya Datuk Joseph Salang dan Datuk Maglin Dennis D'Cruz, pengerusi SKMM Tan Sri Khalid Ramli, serta wakil syarikat komunikasi.

Rais juga meminta kerjasama erat antara SKMM, media, dan industri komunikasi perlu diteruskan supaya penembusan jalur lebar boleh melonjak melepasi sasaran yang ditetapkan iaitu 50 peratus sebelum hujung tahun ini.

"Ia akan menjadi rekod yang ditunggu-tunggu oleh masyarakat di mana jalur lebar akan membawa pembaharuan kepada tamadun baru di Malaysia," katanya.

Kerajaan sebelum ini mensasarkan penembusan 50 peratus jalur lebar di mana sasaran itu akan meningkatkan Keluaran Dalam Negara Kasar (KDNK) tidak kurang dari satu peratus.

Ketika ini projek jalur lebar berkelajuan tinggi (HSBB) bersama Telekom Malaysia telah berjaya mempertingkatkan lebih dari 20 ibu sawat di kawasan Lembah Klang dan beberapa kawasan perindustrian bagi menyokong penyediaan perkhidmatan HSBB dan memberi liputan kepada lebih 300,000 premis.

Setakat Jun 2010, kadar penembusan jalur lebar sudah mencecah 36.1 peratus.

Menurut sumber, Timbalan Perdana Menteri Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin yang juga pengerusi jawatankuasa kabinet mengenai jalur lebar akan mengumumkan angka terkini penembusan jalur lebar pada akhir bulan ini.

Ketika ini terdapat kira-kira 16 juta pengguna internet di Malaysia.

Serius berblogging bukannya maksud untuk serius untuk mendapatkan wang dengan menulis blog. Jangan lupa yang duit itu akan datang kemudian dengan kualiti blog anda. Cuma kalau tiba-tiba hari ini anda terasa ingin membuat satu blog yang baru, mungkin 5 perkara dari segi teknikal di bawah ini mampu untuk membantu anda. Tepuk dada tanya selera sama ada anda benar-benar serius untuk berblogging.

1. Beli domain dot com anda sendiri
Saya lebih suka tekankan pembelian domain ini sebagai satu pelaburan jangka masa panjang. Bukan sekadar lebih mudah untuk diingati oleh readers, tetapi kesan jangka masa panjangnya ialah BRANDING nama anda sendiri. Tak salah gunakan Blogspot atau WordPress. Tapi percayalah cakap saya yang dengan menggunakan domain dot com anda sendiri, impak branding untuk blog anda itu pasti akan lebih hebat.

2. Guna nama domain yang mudah diingati, unik dan senang dieja
Nampak macam benda yang simple tapi kesannya memang sangat mendalam. Kalau nama domain anda terlalu panjang, contoh seperti “blogresipimasakanmaksaya.com” memang compem akan mudah dilupai. Tapi kalau blogresipi.com itu adalah yang terbaik. Kalau nama anda memang pendek dan menarik, tak salah gunakan nama anda sendiri untuk domain dot com.

3. Gunakan WordPress untuk blog anda
Masa anda membeli domain jangan lupa beli hosting sekali. Gunakan WordPress sebagai platform blog anda. Sekarang ini hampir kesemua hosting provider seperti DataKL yang menggunakan CPanel. 5. Pasang Google Analytics di blog anda
Walaupun blog anda belum popular, pastikan Google Analytics diinstall dari hari pertama blog anda diwujudkan untuk bacaan ramai. Kalau takpun install plugin WP-Stats untuk mengenal keyword  yang menyebabkan blog anda dijumpai. Selain keyword, anda boleh tahu blog yang link entri anda, berapa lama readers melekat di blog anda dan macam-macam lagilah. Gunakan data-data ini untuk meningkatkan lagi mutu blog anda.

Sekarang di Malaysia semua sudah mampu untuk memakai telefon bimbit.Ada juga yang memakai lebih dari sebuah telefon bimbit.Gejala ini membawa kepada kemasukkan banyak telefon telefon bimbit yang tidak sah dari luar negara.Disini saya ingin menceritakan serba sedikit mengenai Pengedar Sah dan Juga AP.:

Pengedar Sah Dan AP.Apa bende tu?
Apakah perbezaan di antara set pengedar sah dan set AP? Pada dasarnya semua telefon bimbit dikeluarkan oleh pengilang jenama masing-masing. Perbezaan antara pengedar sah dengan set AP adalah:

Set Pengilang Sah

1. Diedarkan oleh pengedar yang dibenarkan oleh pengilang.
2. Pengilang bertanggungjawab ke atas semua waranti telefon bimbit. Waranti diberikan oleh pengilang dan bukannya oleh Pengedar Sah.
3. Pelanggan boleh mendapatkan perkhidmatan di semua cawangan perkhidmatan berdaftar dalam masa waranti.
4. Peningkatan perisian dari masa ke masa dalam masa waranti. Ini adalah penting untuk telefon bimbit terutamanya 3G.
5. Waranti termasuk LCD kecuali kerosakan yang disebabkan oleh jatuh dan air.
6. Jangka masa waranti yang lebih panjang bagi aksesori.

Set AP
1. Kebanyakan telefon bimbit AP diimport masuk dari negara di luar Asia. Oleh itu, sistem kendaliannya adalah berbeza daripada sistem kendalian tempatan seperti Maxis, Celcom (perkhidmatan 3G) dan Digi (perkhidmatan EDGE). Oleh itu, pelanggan akan menghadapi masalah seperti pemutusan panggilan secara tiba-tiba serta ketidakstabilan perkhidmatan 3G.
2. Waranti ditawarkan oleh pusat perkhidmatan tempatan yang biasanya ialah penjual sendiri. Ini bermakna, pelanggan hanya boleh mendapatkan warantinya di kedai yang terpilih sahaja.
3. Kebanyakan penjual tidak berkemampuan untuk melakukan peningkatan perisian kerana tiadanya peralatan.                                                                                               
4. Kebanyakan waranti bagi set AP tidak termasuk LCD dan aksesori.
5. Pengedar AP kebiasaannya menolak perkhidmatan pembaikan dengan memberikan alasan berikut:
1. “Pengedar AP menukar nama syarikat dan mengatakan syarikat yang memberikan waranti telah ditutup.”
2. “Minta maaf, telefon bimbit anda rosak disebabkan jatuh atau dimasuki air.”


APAKAH KEBAIKAN MEMBELI DARI PENGEDAR SAH?
1. Telefon bimbit yang dibeli daripada Pengilang Sah boleh mendapat perkhidmatan di semua pusat servis berdaftar.
2. Waranti bagi telefon bimbit dan LCD adalah 1 tahun manakala bateri dan pengecas adalah 6 bulan.
3. Peralatan tulen digunakan semasa pembaikan.

1. Waranti yang terhad (Waranti bagi telefon bimbit adalah 1 tahun dan aksesori seperti bateri dan pengecas adalah 1 bulan tetapi tidak termasuk LCD).

KUALA LUMPUR: Maxis Berhad kini menumpukan untuk meningkatkan keupayaan tapak rangkaian Capaian Paket Berkelajuan Tinggi+ (HSPA+) di beberapa kawasan terpilih di Lembah Klang, Johor Bahru dan Pulau Pinang mengikut fasa mulai Disember 2009 hingga 2011.

Dalam tempoh itu juga, tumpuannya adalah untuk menambah baik pengalaman pelanggan berdasarkan maklum balas yang diterima daripada pengguna awal ketika tempoh percubaan HSPA+.

Dengan HSPA+, rangkaian jalur lebar tanpa wayar Maxis mampu menyokong kadar kelajuan maksimum sehingga 21Mbps, walaupun pada peringkat ini pengguna hanya boleh mendapat kelajuan antara 10 hingga 15Mbps dalam persekitaran ruang liputan yang baik.

Naib Presiden dan Ketua rangkaian dan teknologi Maxis, Mark Dioguardi, Maxis sentiasa komited memperkayakan gaya hidup pelanggan menerusi teknologi paling maju dan inovatif.

Ditanya mengenai kawasan liputan HSPA+, bagaimanapun Maxis mengatakan kawasan liputan terbabit hanya akan diumumkan kemudian dan pada peringkat ini juga Maxis tidak dapat mengulas lanjut mengenai butiran penambahbaikan rangkaian HSPA+.

Dioguardi berkata, keupayaan HSPA+ dijangka dapat memenuhi permintaan masyarakat Malaysia terhadap kelajuan tinggi dalam mencapai data Internet dari mana saja, sekali gus menjadikan penelurusan Internet, penyaluran video, memindah turun dan naik data-data beresolusi tinggi itu sesuatu yang memuaskan mereka.

PUTRAJAYA: Technological advancement is an important tool for a nation’s development and countries with such capabilities will triumph, said the Prime Minister.

32-bit vs 64-bit

Not so long ago, we received a query concerning buying a computer and what all the hype was about concerning 32-bit vs. 64-bit, and so on. Since the gift giving season is rolling around and prices for computer equipment is going down, I decided to try and give you all some help.

32-bit vs 64-bit Computing
To start, let me explain the difference between 32 and 64-bit systems, and the 'why' behind it.
In your computer, you have several 'items' that, normally, you don't concern yourself about. One of those is the 'data buss'. It doesn't go across town or anything like that, but it does provide transportation. Basically, It connects memory to the rest of the system including the processor, which does all the thinking in your computer.
The 'data buss' is used to move the data around inside your computer. In a 32-bit computer, the width (or size) of the data buss is 32-bits wide. A 64-bit buss is twice as wide so the system can move twice as much data around. Being able to process more data means a faster system -- but only for specific things. Normal office productivity and web surfing will show no advantages at all, whereas graphics processing and scientific calculations will go much faster.
